Welcome to the home page of Shannon Watters.  A native of Dallas, Texas, Shannon is a dance instructor, choreographer, performer, and Treasurer for the Dallas Repertoire Ballet Board of Directors.  She is also a certified Pilates instructor and member of the Cecchetti Council of America.  Shannon holds a M.F.A. in Dance Choreography from Jacksonville University. She is a Professor at various Colleges/Universities and on Faculty at Academy of Dance Arts.

Choreographer

TCCD, Collin College, Jacksonville University, Dallas Dance Company, Allen High School, Sunset High School, Bally Total Fitness, Academy of Dance Arts, among others have showcased Shannon’s work. Shannon is a Competition Team Director at the Academy of Dance Arts in Allen, Texas, and her works have been awarded national titles, outstanding choreography awards, overall high score routines, Critics' Choice Awards, as well as the Federation of Dance Competitions People’s Choice Award.

Dance & Pilates Instructor

Shannon has been teaching dance and fitness classes since 2004. She is comprehensively certified through Power Pilates and working on teacher grade examinations for Cecchetti USA. She has worked with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Stars Ice Girls, Jacksonville University, Collin College, Texas Woman's University, Berkner High School, Allen High School, Sunset High School, Dallas Dance Company,  private studios, among others. She  teaches contemporary/ lyrical, improvisation, jazz, ballet, and Pilates at the Academy of Dance Arts in Allen, Texas. 

Professor

Shannon is an Adjunct Professor of Dance at Tarrant County College Connect (Spring 2015-present). Currently, she is teaching Dance Appreciation and setting choreographic works. Prior collegiate class offerings include: Ballet, Jazz, Composition, Pilates, and Anatomy & Kinesiology for Dancers.
